Client Description:
The Del Rey Neighborhood Council is an official
organization certified by the City of Los Angeles to allow
residents to make their voices heard in City Hall.
The DRNC serves stakeholders: residents, business owners and
those who work in Del Rey.
Client Objective:
 DRNC
heard about our work through their connection with neighboring
Westchester Playa Del Rey NC. Without hesitation they approved a
proposal to develop a new site.
They were interested in a content management system so that they
could keep the site updated themselves. They have several
technologically minded board members with the time and interest
to take DRNC communications seriously. The Drupal content
management system offers lots of opportunities to expand
functionality as necessary, yet is easy enough to manage with a
minimum of training. Web Site Design and Maintenance Services
Delivered:
- Used excellent existing NC photos to speed up the design
process.
- Configured Drupal with a custom design using article briefs
on the homepage allowing users to click to read more.
- Implemented Google search which searches site pages and
PDF documents.
- Implemented Google calendar with an integrated event listing
on each page.
- Provided content management training and reference document.
- In a Phase II project, configured a Constant Contact
newsletter template with the same branding as the website.
Provided training on Constant Contact to allow Board members to
push out content to stakeholders. Excellent for sending news and
meeting announcements to keep the Council in front of
stakeholders.
- Configured site for users to sign up for Constant Contact
directly on the Delreync.org site.
- Added twitter feed to Delreync.org site and colored it to go
with the site design.
