Client Description:
The City of Duarte is located 20 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
They have a diverse population of about 21,000. The City is
focused on maintaining a strong community. The City website is a
key element in keeping residents informed and involved.
Client Objective:
The City of Duarte had a robust informational site and was
looking for technical and design support.
The City provides its own site maintenance, but needed technical
support with site transfer, upgrading the calendar
functionality, and implementing a search feature.
Web Site Design and Maintenance Services
Delivered:
- Transferred this asp and database reliant site to a new
hosting provider.
- Performed site clean up: updating site map, eliminating
duplicate pages, removing obsolete pdf files that were no longer
linked.
- Debugged calendar functionality.
- Reformatted select pages for ease of use, including FAQ and
Council Bios.
- Implemented a
slideshow feature to display photos from the
mentoring program.
- Implemented a search feature which indexes asp and pdf files
and displays the results in user friendly google / yahoo format.
- Redesigned Latest News page from a series of articles
presented on one page to a summary view. Each article has its
own page. We include an archive for easy access.
- Redesigned home page to include content users wanted most:
Upcoming Events, News, Quick Links. Displayed in popular three
column format. Used site statistics to identify most sought
after links. New homepage design consistent with balance of site
design, so we left the rest of the design alone.
- Redesigned the right side graphics to be consistent with the
design of the rest of the site. Each of the six sections of the
site has one graphic displayed throughout that portion of the
site.
