Client Description:
The Winnetka Neighborhood Council is an official
organization certified by the City of Los Angeles to allow
Winnetka residents to make their voices heard in City Hall.
The WNC serves stakeholders: residents, business owners and
those who work in Winnetka.
Client Objective:
The WNC had an existing site designed and maintained by the president.
They were looking to upgrade the design to a more modern,
polished, easy to use look and feel.
They were also ready to have a professional deal with the
website communications. They are all volunteers, and doing
website communications is time intensive. Hiring a professional
gives them more personal time, more time for council business
and an assurance that the job would be well done.
The site's objective is to communicate with stakeholders about
the board's objectives, accomplishments and involvement opportunities.
For an information-rich, easy to use site, we selected a clean three
column tabloid format for maximum information display. They
wanted the design to highlight Winnetka, so we included images
of the community. The site is targeted at
stakeholders.
Web Site Design and Maintenance Services
Delivered:
- Photographed the community, its parks, schools, and
monuments for for the site. Combined the images into a
custom header along with the City of Los Angeles seal and the
existing WNC logo.
- Created an information rich design with graphics that
showcase the neighborhood. Users see it and know they are on
the right site.
- Collected board member and committee information.
- Draft updated, informative, easy to read content.
- Included site search of htm pages and PDF files.
- Set up database driven calendar which displays in a grid
format on its own page and lists events in the right column on
all remaining pages.
- Maintain the site by posting meetings, news, events,
photos and
documents on a regular basis.
